Basic Element's aviation assets include:

  • Basel Aero - the operating company for the Sochi, Krasnodar, Gelendzhik, Yeysk and Anapa airports. Basel Aero's priorities are full airport infrastructure reconstruction and modernization, and the implementation of advanced passenger, cargo and aircraft handling technologies.
  • OJSC Kuban Airlines - The Krasnodar territory's leading passenger carrier, linking the region with Moscow, St. Petersburg, Yekaterinburg and other major Russian and foreign airports. Operates flights to more than 30 destinations.
  • OJSC Kuban Territorial Air Communications Agency (TAVS Kuban) which operates in ticket sales services, organization of tourist flights and freight traffic, as well as taxi services at Basic Element airports..

Russian airlines flew approximately 57 million passengers in 2010.

Passenger numbers on flights to southern regions of Russia will increase from 4.7 million in 2010 to more than 10 million in 2020.

Our priorities

Personnel Development

A key area in which efficiencies can be realized is the ongoing development of employees, both in the manufacturing and management tiers.  This sector conducts performance reviews, which facilitate maximally objective and transparent evaluations of employee performance as compared with corporate standards and requirements.  Employee training programs on all levels will be offered and expanded.

The automation of business processes and integration of various structures and systems of the airport into a single information space will become the leading trends in the field, raising airport administration to a new level of quality. Basel Aero plans to bring the latest technological innovations in the aviation field to its southern airports.

Environmental protection

Since the airport projects of Basic Element are located in resort areas, сlose attention is paid to protecting the environment and fighting global climate change. All projects under management are designed to preserve the surrounding environment and include substantial ecological components.

Basel Aero

Basel Aero, the airports operating company, was established in 2007. Basel Aero today operates airports in Krasnodar, Sochi, Gelendzhik, Yeysk and Anapa.

Sochi International Airport is the face of the country's major resort and the air gateway to the Sochi 2014 Olympics.

Krasnodar Airport

OJSC Krasnodar International Airport (Pashkovsky) - one of the biggest international airports in southern Russia and the main aviation gateway in the Krasnodar territory. The airport is certified to Russian Civil Aviation Certification System standards and the aerodrome holds a Category I International Civil Aviation Organization certificate and has been certified for international flights. Capacity is 700 passengers per hour.

Anapa Airport

Anapa Airport is certified to Russian Civil Aviation Certification System standards. The aerodrome holds a Category I International Civil Aviation Organization certificate, and has been certified for international flights. Handling capacity is 400 passengers per hour.

Gelendzhik Airport

Gelendzhik is one of Basel Aero's cluster of airports in the Krasnodar territory. It's the first civilian airport that Russia has built in 25 years.

Yeysk Airport is the aerial gateway of the Yeysk resort and operates passenger and cargo flights to Moscow and other regions of the Russian Federation, as well as regional flights, small and business aircraft traffic.

JSC Kuban Airlines

The airline conducts regular and charter flights to cities in Russia, CIS and far-abroad countries - to over 30 destinations. In 2010 Kuban Airlines started a fleet renewal program which consists of acquiring new foreing and domestically produced aircrafts.

Sukhoi Civil Aircraft Company and Kuban Airlines signed an LOI for 12 Sukhoi Superjet 100

August 19, 2011, Zhukovsky (Moscow region) - At the International Aviation and Space Salon MAKS-2011 Sukhoi Civil Aircraft Company and Kuban Airlines signed a Letter of Intent for 12 Sukhoi Superjet 100/95B aircraft. The order is valued at 380,4 million USD at list prices. The document was signed by Vladimir Prisyazhnyuk, President of JSC «Sukhoi Civil Aircraft» and Denis Ilyin, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Kuban Airlines and Managing Director of Aviation Business at Basic Element Group.

Basel Aero and Boeing subsidiary Jeppesen signed a cooperation agreement to increase the throughput capacity of airports in the Krasnodar Territory at the Moscow International Aviation & Space Salon.

Kuban Airlines flies 22% more passengers in 2010

Kuban Airlines has tallied its results for 2010, which show steady growth in passenger numbers. The airline carried 666,454 passengers, or 21.71% more than the 547,579 it flew in 2009.
